The A Touch of Class TrioIf space or budget is limited, an option is to have the music provided by three players rather than four. The instruments would be violin, viola and cello: a ‘string trio’.

The sound is very similar to that of the quartet, though of course it is slightly less weighty. The trio is not suitable for the larger gathering, but for a smaller party of up to about 40 guests it works perfectly well.

The trio is capable of playing all the favourite wedding music, such as Pachelbel’s Canon, the Bridal Chorus and the Wedding March; it can accompany hymns; and on the lighter side it has a similar repertoire to that of the quartet.
